We are so excited to have Carla Friend join us as our 2025 musician-in-residence, Rabbi David Helfand as our Rabbi-in-Residence, and welcome PJ Library Connectors and Shinshinim Atlanta to enhance our excellent programming. Elana Pollock from Honeymoon Israel will also join us and lead insightful discussions on parenting and Jewish values.

2025 Musician in Residence

Meet Carla Friend

Carla Friend is the Founder & Executive Director of Tkiya, an organization that creates joyful Jewish connection through participatory music experiences that are designed around her unique educational approach. Carla presents about this methodology at conferences around the country such as Songleader Bootcamp, PJ Library, NewCAJE, Hava Nashira, and more. She holds a Master’s Degree in Music Education from NYU, a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Ithaca College. Carla is a 2018 recipient of the Young Pioneers Award from the Jewish Education Project, a 2019 recipient of 36 Under 36 from the Jewish Week, graduated from UpStart Venture Accelerator’s Cohort 11, just graduated from the Institute for Executive Jewish Leadership, is on the board of JPRO New York, and is a JKids Radio artist with a radio show called Tkiya Town. 2025 Rates

All-inclusive rates are per person and include comfortable accommodations, delicious kosher meals, snacks and beverages and all activities.

Payment can be made via credit card, e-check or mailed check. If paying via credit card, a 2.5% fee will be added to cover the processing fees charged to Ramah Darom by the credit card companies. There is no fee to pay via e-check or mailed check. Please ensure mailed checks reach our Atlanta offices by the payment due date indicated.

Payment Schedule

  • Due at Registration: A $50 non-refundable deposit for each adult will be processed when the registration application is submitted.
  • February 7, 2025: Full payment due. Our system automatically charges the balance to your stored payment method (credit card or e-check). Credit card payments incur a 2.5% fee. To change your stored payment method, contact finance@ramahdarom.org.

Cancellation Policy

No refunds will be made after February 7, 2025. We highly recommend purchasing Trip Protection Insurance as we are not able to refund you in the event of a last-minute cancellation.

Accommodations

Cabins

BunksRamah Darom’s cabins are modern and spacious with hardwood floors, a screened-in porch and indoor bathroom(s).

Linens are provided, but beds are not made up. 

Shared Cabins
There are 2 shared cabins per building and each cabin is shared by 2 families (4 families per building). Each cabin has 2 private rooms, 1 center room with 8 bunk beds and a shared bathroom. The bathrooms have multi-stalls and walk-in showers. If there are a minimum of 3 people in your household, you may upgrade to a semi-private cabin for $150/household.

Semi-Private Cabins
There are 16 semi-private cabins on campus, with 4 semi-private cabins per building (4 families per building). In a semi-private cabin, each family has their own space, separated from another family by a pocket door with 1 private room, 1 center room with 4 bunk beds and a private bathroom.

Hotel Rooms

Hotel Room

We have 4 hotels on our 185-acre campus. All hotel rooms have a private bathroom, a table and two chairs, heating and air conditioning, complimentary toiletries, bed and bath linens, a mini fridge and a Keurig. Most rooms have 2 queen beds, a few have 1 king bed or 2 full beds. If there are a minimum of 3 people in your household, you may add on an additional hotel room for $150/household. Some adjoining rooms are available.

Deluxe Private Cottages

There are 4 deluxe private cottages on Ramah Darom’s campus and they are our most luxurious accommodations! These beautiful studio-style cottages feature a kitchenette, private porch, bathroom with walk-in shower, king-sized bed and full-sized pullout couch. If you would like to upgrade from a hotel to a cottage, you may do so for $300/household. Please note that cottages are not ADA-accessible and have stair-only access.

Travel & Packing

L’hitraot: Sunday, March 9, 2025, 12:00pm ET

Ramah Darom is two hours from Atlanta, in Clayton, GA. Please download and print these Driving Directions and bring them when you travel. GPS shortcuts can lead you to dangerous mountain roads!

Ramah Darom does not offer transportation from the Atlanta airport to campus for this retreat as there is not typically a large interest or need. If you have difficulty coordinating travel to Ramah Darom’s campus, please contact retreats@ramahdarom.org and we will assist you. Ultimately, we do not want this to hinder your participation in this program.

Please use this Packing List as a guide and bring any specific items that you feel are necessary for your health, safety and enjoyment.

Pet Policy

Please note that NO pets of any kind may join you for your stay onsite for any length of time.
