David Moss
David considers himself a “mitzvah beautifier”. He works in diverse media, including calligraphy, illumination, papercuts, sculpture, wood, prints, artist books, architecture, pottery, drama, educational programming, and others. He is responsible for the revival of the hand-illustrated ketubah, created The Moss Haggadah, and collaborated on the Tree of Life Shtender. His magnificent artwork has been acquired by major museums, and is included in many private collections. He is currently working on a “Garden of Jewish Exploration” and continues to create daily from his studio in Hutzot HaYotzer, across from Kol HaOt.
Elyssa Moss Rabinowitz
Elyssa is an experiential Jewish educator who constructs worlds of Jewish meaning and beauty. She draws on all media to create interactive, participatory events and programs of Jewish content. She is responsible for the leadership and management of the organization, constantly bringing the various elements of our vision into reality. Before Kol HaOt, she founded “A Day Away”, weaving together Jewish texts, music, food, art, and drama to create all-encompassing experiences that are authentic, educational, inspirational, and fun. She created and runs the “Zer Mitzvot” year-long group study/experience for Bat Mitzvah-aged girls and their mothers, and has worked on creative content for television programming, as well as acted and produced in live theater.
Nachum Peterseil
As the lead vocalist of the hip-hop trio PLVNK and the visionary behind Nachum’s Hallel, he infuses Jewish tradition with fresh energy and originality. For more than two decades, Nachum has shared his music and message with communities around the world—from Zambia to Israel, North America to the Caribbean—performing and teaching in early childhood centers, schools, synagogues, festivals, private homes, and summer camps.
Through Nachum’s Hallel, he reimagines the ancient prayer of hope and praise with powerful new melodies, inviting audiences to sing, reflect, and rise together in unity and light.
Alicia Jo Rabins
She is the author of Divinity School (winner of the APR/Honickman First Book Prize), Fruit Geode (finalist for the National Jewish Book Award), and Even God Had Bad Parenting Days, a collection of essays blending early parenthood with Jewish text and tradition (Behrman House). Forthcoming works include a picture book about Leonard Cohen (2025) and a spiritual memoir (2026).
Alica created and stars in A Kaddish for Bernie Madoff, an award-winning independent feature film exploring the intersection of finance and mysticism. The Atlantic called it “a blessing,” and it received honors from the Ashland, Port Townsend, and Sarasota film festivals. As a musician, she has released three albums with Girls in Trouble, her indie-folk song cycle about women in the Bible. She has toured internationally as a bluegrass fiddle player with the U.S. State Department and spent eight years as a violinist in New York City’s klezmer-rock band, Golem.
She lives in Portland, Oregon, with her husband and two children.
