Camp Alumni Mishpacha Weekend

September 4-7, 2026

Welcoming camp alumni and their families, back home to Ramah Darom!

Calling all Camp Ramah Darom alumni: Mishpacha Weekend is your chance to come back to camp to experience the magic, see your old friends and counselors, and even bring your kiddos along. It’ll be a joyful, memory-making Labor Day weekend celebrating 30 incredible summers of Camp Ramah Darom. This retreat is designed for camp alumni ready to share the magic of Ramah Darom with their families—singing, playing, exploring, and laughing together from morning to bedtime.

If you would like to be added to our alumni list, please email us and include “Alumni” in the subject line.

What to Expect

  • A family-focused, fun-filled weekend in the magical 30525 (details below)
  • A classic Camp Ramah Darom Shabbat
  • Pool and lake time
  • Favorite camp activities for the whole family: gaga, art, tie-dye, climbing, sports, and more
  • Late-night programs just for grown-ups (with libations)

What’s Included

  • Comfortable accommodations (cabin, hotel room, or cottage – details below).
  • All food, snacks, and beverages.
  • All programming and activities. Please note all daytime activities are family-based (there is no separate kids camp). Adult-only late-night activities will include libation (with and without alcohol).
  • Shmira (Night Listening): A service provided for families staying in cabins or hotel rooms during adult evening programs, where a counselor sits in your cabin’s common space or in a hotel hallway to listen for children who wake up and respond if a need arises. Shmira is not babysitting; counselors monitor multiple families at once.
A Glimpse of What's in Store

Friday Afternoon: Jump right back into the Ramah Darom rhythm! Arrive, settle in, braid and decorate challah, reconnect with familiar faces, and meet new friends.

A Classic Ramah Darom Shabbat

Friday Night: Sing, celebrate, and enjoy the feeling of being back in the place that has always felt like home. Experience Kabbalat Shabbat in the amphitheater, then gather for Shabbat dinner in the Chadar Ochel, where the ruach of a true camp Shabbat comes alive. After the kids are in bed, adults will cap off the evening with a late-night Oneg, games, and a chance to reminisce with Rabbi Sykes as you share your favorite camp memories.

Shmira (night listening) will be provided each night. See website under “What’s Included” for details.

Saturday: Start the day with morning services, then enjoy classic camp Shabbat meals (Big Boppers included!). Spend time at the pool with your family, hike to the waterfall, tour Ramah Darom’s infamous shtender, or jump into a game of gaga, soccer, basketball, tennis, Mah Jongg, and more.

Saturday Night: Gather in the amphitheater for Havdallah under the stars led by Naomi Less, then dance the night away to your favorite Ramah Darom rikud songs. Afterward, adults can keep the fun going at Peulat Erev.

Camp Fun Day for the Whole Mishpacha

Sunday: Celebrate 30 years of Ramah Darom with a day full of classic camp adventures! Go boating on the lake, conquer the new waterfront inflatables, cool off at the pool, create your own tie-dye masterpiece, test your aim at archery, climb the tower, soar on the giant swing, and enjoy more favorite Ramah Darom activities.

Sunday Night: End the day with a family bonfire, s’mores, and a harga’ah with Uncle Anthony. Then adults can celebrate Ramah Darom’s birthday with an evening party featuring a pickleball tournament like no other. And yes, get ready to “Belly Bomb” in honor of the legendary staff days off of years past!

Biscuits, Closing Ceremonies & Goodbyes
Monday Morning:
Close out the weekend with a traditional biscuit breakfast and ruach-filled closing ceremonies featuring shira, rikud, and heartfelt goodbyes.

Whether you’re introducing your children to the place that shaped your childhood summers or reconnecting with old friends and bunkmates, Mishpacha Weekend is all about celebrating the memories, friendships, and traditions that make Ramah Darom so special.

We can’t wait to welcome you home!
