We are thrilled to have Carla Friend  join us as our 2026 Musician-in-Residence and welcome PJ Library Connectors and Shinshinim Atlanta to enhance our exceptional programming. 

Meet Carla Friend

Carla Friend is the Founder & Executive Director of Tkiya, an organization that creates joyful Jewish connection through participatory music experiences that are designed around her unique educational approach. She holds a Masters Degree in Music Education from NYU and a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from Ithaca College. She discovered her Jewish identity through music and started Tkiya to help others do the same. Carla is a 2018 recipient of the Young Pioneers Award from the Jewish Education Project , a 2019 recipient of 36 Under 36 from the Jewish Week, was in UpStart Venture Accelerator’s Cohort 11, is on the board of JPro New York, and was just accepted to the newest cohort of the Institute for Executive Jewish Leadership. She is also a JKids Radio artist and the host of a new show on JKids Radio called Tkiya Town. Check out Carla’s new album of family-friendly Jewish music, Challalalalah!

Payment Schedule

• Due at Registration: A $50 non-refundable deposit for each participant will be processed.
• February 6, 2026: Full payment due. No refunds are offered after this date. See ‘Cancellation Policy’.

We strongly encourage purchasing Trip Protection Insurance. This insurance must be purchased before your final payment is made! While we understand that unexpected life events can happen between registration and the retreat, please note that our refund policies are based on the significant upfront costs we incur once your registration is confirmed. As a result, we regret that we cannot provide any refunds after February 6, 2026, for any reason.

Cancellations must be submitted in writing to retreats@ramahdarom.org.

Cabins

Ramah Darom’s cabins are modern and spacious with hardwood floors, a screened-in porch, and indoor bathroom(s).

Linens are provided, but beds are not made up. 

Hotel Rooms

There are four hotel buildings on our 185-acre campus. All hotel rooms have a private bathroom, heating and air conditioning, a dresser, a table with two chairs, a personal coffee maker with pods, a mini-fridge, complimentary hotel-style toiletries, and bed and bath linens. Most rooms have two queen beds, and a few have one king bed or two full beds. A limited number of connecting rooms are available, and some hotel rooms are ADA-accessible. If there are a minimum of three people in your party, you may add an additional hotel room for $150.

Deluxe Private Cottages

There are four deluxe private cottages on Ramah Darom’s campus, and they are our most luxurious accommodations! These beautiful studio-style cottages feature a kitchenette, private porch, bathroom with walk-in shower, king-sized bed and full-sized pullout couch. If you would like to upgrade from a hotel to a cottage, you may do so for $300/household. Please note that cottages are not ADA-accessible and have stair-only access.

Ramah Darom is two hours from Atlanta, in Clayton, GA. Please download and print these Driving Directions and bring them with you when you travel. GPS shortcuts can lead you to dangerous mountain roads!

Ramah Darom does not offer transportation from the Atlanta airport to campus for this retreat as there is not typically a large interest or need. If you have difficulty coordinating travel to Ramah Darom’s campus, please contact retreats@ramahdarom.org and we will assist you. Ultimately, we do not want this to hinder your participation in this program.
