5, 11 & 18-Night Programs

In addition to two 4-week Camp sessions for rising 4th-1oth graders, the Gesher Leadership Program for returning rising 11th graders and a range of Tikvah Support for campers and young adults with disabilities, Ramah Darom now offers three ways for younger campers to step up to a 4-week summer experience. Each program is designed to cater to the specific developmental needs and interests of the respective age groups, providing a gradual progression in the duration and depth of the Camp experience.

  1. Ta’am: This 5-night program is specifically designed for rising 2nd graders. Ta’am provides a brief but meaningful introduction to the Camp experience, allowing young campers to get a taste of what Ramah Darom has to offer.
  2. Garinim: This program spans 11 nights and is tailored for rising 3rd graders. Garinim provides a slightly longer duration for campers to further explore and engage in Camp Ramah Darom activities and community.
  3. Nitzanim & Sollelim K’tzara: This “short” session offers rising 4th and 5th graders an abbreviated 18-night option.

These shorter summer programs allow young campers to dip their toes in and get comfortable with being away from home and gradually build up to a 4-week summer session. And, much like Winter Break Family Camp, and our Book It To Shabbat with PJ Library, they are a great entry point into the Ramah Darom community.

Activities include a full sports program, swimming, arts and crafts, Hebrew, Shabbat and more.

“When I picked up my daughter who went to Taste of Ramah and she ran to the car crying, I thought she was so excited and moved to see me. I, of course, starting crying too. She made it clear very quickly that she was crying because she didn’t want to leave camp and NOT because she missed me… Oh well…”
