Ramah Darom5.23.22
This past weekend, the Ramah Darom Board elected four new Directors, all of whom have a strong personal connection to Ramah Darom.

We are excited to welcome these new members to our Board!

New Board Members

Leron FingerLeron Finger is a pediatric intensive care physician. He currently works as the Associate Chief Medical Officer and Chief Quality Officer at Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, LA. He and his much better half Julie have three daughters (Zoe, Lila and Mabel) who attend Ramah Darom and are counting down the days until Camp starts. Leron attended Camp Ramah in New England for a few summers and worked at Camp Judaea for several years. He firmly believes that summer camp can be THE formative experience for American Jews, especially those who grow up in the South. Leron has enjoyed sitting on the Ramah Darom Medical Committee and is thrilled to be invited to serve on the Board.

Rachel Mizrahi MorgenthalRachel Mizrahi Morgenthal is a fourth-generation member of the Jacksonville Jewish Center and a Camp Ramah alum, attending Ramah in New England as a child. Rachel’s three children will be attending Ramah Darom this summer. Her oldest son Jacob is in the Tikvah program and will be in Gesher this summer, while her youngest son will be a first-time camper! Rachel attended Brandeis University and received a Juris Doctorate from New York Law School. She is a member of the New York State Bar. She is currently a stay-at-home mom and is very active in the Jacksonville Jewish Community. Upon returning to Jacksonville, FL, and having a child with special needs, Rachel saw a need in the Jacksonville community for a program servicing children with special needs. Helping to establish that program which is now housed at Jewish Family and Community Services under the title EPIC (Education, Partnership, Inclusion, Counseling) remains the project of which she is the proudest. She currently serves on the Jewish Community Alliance Board of Trustees and is a past Board member of the Jacksonville Jewish Center and education cabinet of the Martin J. Gottlieb Day School. She recently was the recipient of the Ilene Sari Selevan Young Leadership Award from the Jewish Federation and Foundation of Northeast Florida.

Derric RaggsDerric Raggs is an Insurance Operations Manager in Atlanta, GA. Three of his children have attended Camp Ramah Darom. This summer his youngest child will be in Nachshonim, one is going on Seminar, and another who is a college freshman will be on staff as a second-year Camp counselor at Ramah Darom. The Raggs family are active members of Congregation B’nai Torah, and Derric serves on the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Jews of Color Council.

Dafna RubinsteinDafna Rubinstein lives in Plano, TX. Ramah Darom has been her three children’s home away from home for the past 14 summers. Dafna has taught both in the public schools as a bilingual teacher and at Levine Academy where she taught and served as the Jewish Studies coordinator for the early childhood program. Over the last 10 years, she has worked in support of Congregation Anshai Torah where she was involved in developing and growing their early childhood programs and later as a member of their executive committee. Dafna served on the board of the Dallas JCC and the National Council of Jewish Women. She is active at Akiba Yavneh Academy working with the marketing and recruitment committees. In her spare time, Dafna loves all kinds of outdoor activities, including running, hiking and skiing. She is looking forward to hiking around the beautiful grounds of Ramah Darom.
