Meet Elana Yeffet

Rosh Tikvah

Hello, I’m Elana Yeffet and I am returning for my second summer as Rosh Tikvah. I am an alumnus of Camp Ramah Darom and was on staff for four years from 2005-2009. In 2017, my husband Phil Katz (he is returning as our Camp boat driver!) and I had the chance to return to my home away from home with our outstanding Tikvah Support Program. I was amazed at the positive changes that the campers supported by Tikvah had on our whole community.

Phil and I reside in Hollywood, Florida where I am a Kindergarten Teacher. I graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Family and Child Science and then received my Masters in Elementary Education from Nova South Eastern University.

The Tikvah Support Program has allowed Ramah Darom to grow as a community and has allowed children with disabilities to have an opportunity to be a part of Ramah Darom and have the same incredible experiences as their peers. I am so proud of how much this program has grown in the past 5 years, and love working with Audra Kaplan in building our camp. I look forward to continuing to be a part of the Tikvah team and helping us ensure that Ramah Darom is a home for all campers.

Here is just a taste of why I love what I do at Camp Ramah Darom.
