“On October 8th, still in complete shock from the previous day’s events, I heard there was a group of soldiers in need of 10 stretchers and that each one cost 500 NIS (approximately 130 USD). I decided I’d help try to pool some funds and turned to my Atlanta and CRD communities for help.”
Within two hours, the 10 stretchers had been bought, and after my family and I delivered them to an army base the next day, I was sure that I’d done my part. Yet the money kept coming, and over the next three weeks we were able to donate hundreds of much needed medical supplies, protective eyewear, tourniquets, ceramic vests, helmets, boots, jackets, tents and more to soldiers, and are now helping evacuated kibbutz residents as they figure out their next steps. My family and I couldn’t have done any of this without this incredible community’s support.”
