Traveling  by Plane?

Arrival Day Details for campers traveling by plane.

If you have a change in flight or arrival day plans, please contact travel@ramahdarom.org.

Upon arrival at the Atlanta Airport, Ramah Darom staff will greet you at baggage claim. (Look for the turquoise Ramah Darom t-shirts.)

PLEASE stay with your camper(s) through check-in.

  1. Campers who did not fly with a parent/guardian will call home upon arrival at the airport. (Campers do NOT need to travel with their own cell phone.)
  2. Once all luggage has been retrieved, you will bring it to the luggage off point, located on the lower level of the South Terminal. Staff will be available to help transport luggage.
  3. Please use the restroom in the airport before the next step.
  4. Then, proceed to the ATL Skytrain, located next to baggage claim, to take a two-minute free ride to the GICC Gateway Center StationDo NOT accidentally take MARTA!
  5. Exit the Skytrain at GICC Gateway Center Station and take the very short walk to the parking deck of the Atlanta Airport Marriott Gateway Hotel (2020 Convention Center Concourse) to begin check-in. There will be signs to direct you.

Check-in at the Atlanta Airport Marriott Gateway

Campers must be accompanied by a parent/chaperone for the first two check-in steps, but parents/chaperones are welcome to stay for the entire process.

At the registration table on level P1 of the parking deck, campers will receive a “Passport to Summer 2021.” ALL of the following boxes must be checked, by a member of our staff, before campers can board the bus to Camp or enter Camp.

  • Proof of a negative Molecular (PCR) COVID test (from the last 3 days)
  • Proof of negative COVID rapid test day of (taken at check-in or before boarding airplane)
  • Signed Camp COVID Testing Consent Waiver
  • Completion of all medical information on your family dashboard
  • Lice check. (If a camper has lice, they will immediately be treated, and parents/guardians will be billed for the cost of treatment by Ramah Darom. See the Parent/Guardian Handbook for billing information.)
  • Phone and travel money turn in (to be held in the Camp safe until departure day)
  • Luggage drop-off
  • Medication drop-off and speak to a nurse (if applicable)
  • Final Check

After all the boxes on the “Passport to Camp” have been check off by a staff member, campers will be officially checked in to Camp and parents/guardians will receive an automated email letting them know their child has completed check-in.

After you say so-long to your camper(s):

  • Campers then continue into the “Camp Zone,” where they will get to know their counselors, connect with their pod, and receive a boxed lunch.
  • Campers will be bused to Camp by aidah (age division) seated by pod.
  • This year we will not be calling individual families when buses arrive. So, NO NEWS IS GREAT NEWS. You will receive an email in the evening once everyone is in Camp and our kehilla (community) is together.
  • To receive Camp updates, access summer photo galleries and purchase Bunk Notes (to send emails to your child at Camp), use BUNK1. We’ve already set up an account for you, so add your email and password (you use to log in to your family dashboard) under “returning users”. DO NOT click “Sign Up”. NO CODE IS REQUIRED to log in to BUNK1! You can also log in to BUNK 1 through your family dashboard. To do so, log in, click “View All Registrations”, then scroll down and click “Photos & Bunk Note”. Clicking on either will bring you to BUNK1. For best access to Camp photos and updates, we recommend that you download the BUNK 1 app to your smartphone. Photos will be uploaded to Bunk1 every Tuesday and Friday by 10:00am ET.
